Drinking Water
  • Please come at least 15 minutes before your session to fill out your intake form.
  • Be sure to drink a large glass of water before AND after your sessions.
  • Have an open mind, Bowen Therapy is very unique, and probably not like anything else you have experienced before.
  • If you have any concerns, discuss it with me at the beginning of the session, as there is usually very little to no talking between you and your therapist during the treatment.
Performing Treatment
  • Your first visit will be about 1.5 hours and will include an assessment, discussion of your concerns, and initial balancing treatment.
  • All other treatments will be about 45min-1hr based on what we will be working on.
  • Bowen therapy can be done over light, loose fitting clothing. No jeans or other thick material clothes please. (I will need to be able to feel for muscles under your clothing. Loose stretchy gym clothes work the best)
  • Most Bowen therapy moves are done while you are lying on a massage table, but accommodations may be made if you require to be seated during the session.
  • Be sure to take a 30 minute walk, some time that day, after your treatment. This helps to align, and balance the body.
  • It is advisable not to do any other kind of bodywork (Chiropractic, massage, hot tub, acupuncture) for a minimum of five days after your Bowen therapy session as this will negate the effects of the work done
Holding Hands

  • Every body heals at it’s own rate, some quicker while others need more time, however, here are some guidelines
  • Acute injuries may see pain relief in about 3-4 sessions
  • Chronic conditions may take 6-8 sessions or more.
  • It is a great idea to come in for a re-balancing maintenance session every 3-6 months, to make sure you are feeling great.
  • Only come in for as many visits as you feel you need. No coming in numerous times a week or for months at a time.
